AUTONOM Symposium

As a collaborative team, my project partner, Helin and I played pivotal roles in managing, directing, ideating, and designing key elements of the AUTONOM initiative. Our close collaboration with Fonds Darstellende Künste and Digitale Dramaturgie enabled us to create a platform that bridges the realms of artistic production, scientific inquiry, and societal challenges, igniting discussions on the intricate relationships between humans, machines, and algorithms. With a focus on supporting artists and collectives exploring this theme, our partnership with Digitale Dramaturgie, an interdisciplinary group investigating digital approaches to representation and narration, provided a rich foundation for insightful dialogue at the intersection of art and technology.

Funded by the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, AUTONOM stands as a pivotal component of the federal government's broader AI strategy. In our roles, we took on the responsibility of designing the virtual space on Gathertown and developing the website for the AUTONOM symposium, taking charge of art direction and project management. We meticulously crafted the virtual environment, integrating private areas, information desks, a main stage, and presentation rooms tailored for specific groups through collaborative ideation sessions with the Fund and Digitale Dramaturgie teams. To enhance interactivity, participants engaged in an AI-based quiz via Typeform, determining their designated rooms during the latter part of the symposium. Reflecting the thorough planning process akin to physical events, we ensured seamless navigation and provided technical support throughout the symposium, with speakers actively monitoring the virtual space to address any potential issues.

We designed a website for the symposium with information about the events, workshops, and other resources related to the field of AI.
